I have been working on several tricks with Wilson lately Jump into my arms, Jumping off trees and Jump over me as well as a bit of agility he is doing really well I have it so I'm making an arch (sort of) and he jumps on me and then keeps going he's great at that one so that's a trick by it's self and I'm really hoping I can then do it so I can also get him to jump over my back and into my arms. Bouncing/Jumping off tree's is the other one I'm working on I have a ramp and he runs up and then down it (I'm not great at explaining all these things am I ?) then I get it higher he now does it full height nearly vertical ! I need to get him really used to that and do it on sloping trees until he can do it off a wall or tree I'm also hoping to do it so he can launch himself off me!
Despite him not being a Australian Shepard/Collie the sort of dogs that normally do that sort of thing he is very good (I'm not against collies in fact I desperately want one when I turn 18) I would have not bothered before trying to teach him ANY of these tricks saying to myself only medium Collie/Shepard type dogs or maybe a Poodle or Yorkie or "bouncy" do trick ! I think (with in reason) any dog can do any trick regardless of breed the tricks need to be size appropriate and a collie is likely be better but I would say any trick any toy Poodle/Yorkie can do (and many of the tricks a collie can do) I think Wilson could be taught! Beth Roche Here are the "official" one day old photo's of Mr Dizzy, Little Miss Sunshine and Little Miss Chatterbox, (more fun ones coming ) not fabulous quality but cute (amber was concerned about us moving the pups). Yesterday at 5:00 Amber had 3 puppies by c-section, 2 girls and a boy. I was able to come in while they did the section (unlike last time) and it was amazing when the first one let out a squeak as the rubbed him dry, I then held him whilst the girls were born.
They are so cute they are called "KrazyKids" because Amber's kennel name is KrazyLove and Gandi is Lolvo Kid ..... They are AMAZING just so perfect and I love them all. We give them nicknames so we can identify them instead of Girl One, Girl 5 or Girl 10 we give then proper names they are Mr.Men names the girls are Little Miss Chatterbox, Little Miss Sunshine and Mr.Dizzy ... their ribbons are Pink, Yellow and Brown. Anyway my computer is being a pain but I'll upload photos soon, I'm also going to make a video soon. Beth Roche ... The whelping box is built, blankets are washed and vet-bed is clean ... the puppies are due tomorrow or anytime from then Amber is huge now ... I'm really EXCITED !!! We can feel the puppies moving quite a bit now ... I won't have as much free time with the puppies and I do not want Wilson to be bored so me and Anna (my sister) have made lot's of fillings for Kong's for Wilson and our other dogs Holly and Cody ... we made five different fillings they will have their normal food mix in with all of the flavors Strawberries and Cream Cheese, Sweet potato and Cottage Cheese, Broccoli and Cheese, Mackerel and Carrot and Yogurt Banana and Honey. We are freezing the Kong's to slow the dog's down at bit, the day they will probably get the least attention is Whelping day I will have to walk Holly and Wilson on my own and play lot's of Brain-Games and do Training with them both! If you want to make any of these Kong flavors are the the Recipe's Strawberries and Cream Cheese Combine Cream Cheese and Sliced Strawberries Sweet Potato and Cottage Cheese Boil peeled Sweet Potato's then mash potato's and add Cottage Cheese Broccoli Cheese Cook Broccoli ad cheese and heat in oven till cheese is browned Mackerel and Carrot Steam Carrots and mix with Mackerel Yogurt, Honey and Banana Mash Banana mix with Honey and Yogurt I made enough for 2 1 Large (Coco) and 2 Small (Holls and Will) ....... We think she will have about 6+ Puppies the vet said 4 on the first scan but 6-8 on the second! I'm going to be so busy with puppies though I'm looking forward to all of it I'm even looking forward to staying up all night to watch them !!! Beth Roche ... PS. Photos - All un-edited and taken by me Wilson is sat with his paws on my desk with the rest of him on my lap ! We only have a few day's to go now! We have everything nearly ready now ... Wilson doen't like his tug toy so I have made a rope toy of an old towel and he likes it so I think I will make him a fleecy tug without the pompom As you can see the blog has had a make-over hope you like it! Beth Roche ...
I really fancied making a video the other day - I have just finished Wilson’s Video which was my project I really enjoyed it, as those who read my previous post - scroll down to see - Amber is
expecting puppies and I am planning to make a video of the pups however a few days ago it was like 2 whole weeks to go and I was impatient and wanted to make a video first but on the other hand 2 weeks is not that far away and I don’t want to start a massive project just as I am ready to start so there are lots of things called Trick Challenges basically you teach your dog 5 tricks say and you film it edit it and submit it to a forum or something and you pass or fail if you pass you get a certificate anyway I want to do one with Wilson Level One is a simple one in fact he knows many of the tricks already it’s an easy-er project and there are some new tricks to teach too. This post is also to say a puppy video is coming sooooon ! I have started filming - not much as we shall not have puppies for 10 days but there are a few thing’s I can film now. Beth Roche |
